David De Gea has insisted he is happy and settled at Manchester United, despite his contract at the club having just 18 months left to run.
The Spain international has consistently been linked with a return to Madrid and with La Liga champions Real, but there is little indication that the goalkeeper signed for £18.9m from Atletico in 2011 is looking at pitching up outside of Manchester.
“Yeah, time flies by doesn’t it?” he told Premier League productions of his seven years at Old Trafford. “When you think I’m in my seventh season now, I’m really, really happy with all my time here.
“I came here as a kid and I’m a man now both on and off the field. From a football point of view and in my own life as well. Looking back, it’s been seven fantastic years.”
