Recall: How Olofa, APC, religious leaders reconciled Oyeleke, Olayonu

The recall crisis rocking the Offa chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally been resolved, National Pilot learnt last night.
House leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Hassan Oyeleke and member of the House of Representatives for Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun, Hon Tope Olayonu has been involved in alleged supremacy battle over permutations their apologists said concerns 2019.
The rift reportedly degenerated and led to the recall process instituted by some members of Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun state constituency in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State against Oyeleke.
One of the meetings that was reportedly held on the issue earlier was said to have suffered set back following the absence of one of the parties.
Both Oyeleke and Olayonu joined the Saraki dynasty from the ACN and were both members of the 7th legislature in the state before the latter got the ticket for the House of Representatives.
It was gathered that the decision to intervene in the issue which was mooted by the leadership of the party and the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II had been on for weeks now to bring both parties on the table to chart a common cause.
The action of the monarch to reconcile the then “feuding parties” allegedly led to the concerted efforts of other traditional rulers and religious bodies and individuals who also waded into the issue.
Pilot Politics further gathered that two meetings were later held on Friday in Ilorin and Offa by both the leadership of the party at the secretariat and the peace meeting in Offa which also had in attendance CAN executives and Chief Imam of Offa, Ustadh Muhyideen Salman Hussein.
They have since started to attend public functions together and have both called their supporters to embrace the new unity among them.
A source, who spoke on the issue, said the reconciliation was made easy because of their previous antecedent and also being a member of the same party under the Saraki dynasty adding that the goal was to ensure that the structure work for the people and not against them.
Meanwhile, an online medium, Royal News reported that Oyeleke in a statement thanked the entire people of Offa and Kwarans in general for their show of concern while the rift lasted.
“Hon. Oyeleke however thanked the entire people of Offa and Kwarans at large for the show of concern and promised to be more dutiful to the growth of legislative activities in the state.
“He also thanked the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmad and the entire members of the assembly for their unflinching support”, the statement added.
Recall that the Kwara state chapter of the Independent National Electoral Commission had directed members of Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun state constituency in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State to its national headquarters over the recall.
The Public Relations Officers of the commission, Barrister Jacob Ayanda said the process of recall does not lie within the purview of the state adding that it was only the national INEC that is in the right position to handle the issue.
