Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors begins LGs tour in Patigi

Delegation of the Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors, a Non-Governmental Organization with the aim of mobilising youths for social and community development across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State commenced its tour of the state at Patigi on Tuesday.
In his welcome address, the Deputy Coordinator (Kwara North)Amb. Abubakar Suleiman, reiterate the commitment of the Patigi Ambassadors to the cause of effecting Rebirth and make Kwara work for Kwarans.
The Patigi LG Coordinator, Amb. Jimada Nakodi Suleiman while welcoming members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) led by Amb. Abdulrasheed Akogun assured the group of readiness of youths in the area to work tirelessly on the path of Rebirth, after which he presented the 10 ward coordinators of the group in Patigi LG.
In his remarks, the Publicity Secretary, Amb. Ibrahim Sheriff while introducing members of the delegation lamented the appalling state of infrastructure generally in Patigi which has placed restrictions on the prospect and prosperity of the community. He therefore urged the members to take their destinies into their hands by electing leaders who can be held accountable for their actions and inactions.
Speaking, the state Coordinator of the group, Amb. Akogun said if rural urban migration must be discouraged, then development must not be skewed to some part of the state, leaving others underdeveloped.
Akogun admonished all the members to get ready to put Kwara on the path of greatness by exercising their civic responsibility and community development efforts.
He urged the group to mobilise their colleagues in Patigi to collect the Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) and to vote candidates with integrity and competence come 2019, in order to avoid mistakes of the past.
The group later paid homage to the Etsu of Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar, who gave them royal blessing and urged them to remain focused.
Kwara Rebirth Ambassadors thereafter embarked on facilities tour in the community, among which are the Government Technical College, Patigi, the General Hospital, Patigi and major roads in the area.

Muslim group applauds KWHA over alcohol prohibition
A Muslim group, Jama’at Islam, Kwara State Chapter, under the leadership of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has expressed its appreciation to the Kwara State House of Assembly for the recent enactment of law prohibiting the production, sales and consumption of alcohol in the state.
The group noted that the bill which is timely will reduce crime and criminality in the society adding that Allah preaches against distilling and consumption of alcohol.
The organisation therefore called on security agents, religious organisations and residents of the state to cooperate with the government in enforcing the law in the in order to make the society better for all.
The group however urged the Kwara Assembly under the leadership of Dr Ali Ahmad to continue to enact laws that will impact positively on Kwarans.
