Kwara NSCDC arrests herbalist over alleged N5m fraud

Men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command on Saturday arrested an herbalist alongside his accomplice over an alleged fraud, at Aleyo village, Afon in Asa Local Government Area of the state.
The herbalist, Kazeem AbdulSalam and his colleague were said to have fraudulently collected cash to the tune of N5million from one Munmini AbdulRahaman, to cleanse him of an alleged ill luck and lack of financial break through.
It was gathered that the victim during his daunting period was introduced to the AbdulSalam by one Adamu Hussein who later jointly defrauded the former in both Naira and Dollar currencies.
National Pilot learnt that after being dubbed regained his senses and reported the case to the NSCDC headquarters in Ilorin where the Command took the bold step to arrest the suspect and his syndicate.
According to a source in the Command who spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity, the suspects claimed to be helping the victim after he complained of breakthrough challenge not knowing they were fraudsters.
The source further said that NSCDC led by the state Commandant, Adeyinka Fasiu stormed the residence of the suspects in Asa local government only to discover several shrines.
Speaking on the story, the Public Relations Officer, Bello Olorunfemi said that the Command is hoping to unravel other miseries while adding that the suspects are still in custody.
“There were so many things that we discovered that could be considered gory. We took the suspect down to his residence at Aleyo along Ojoku and various shrines were discovered and he identified the usage and importance of each to us.
“We are conducting more investigations to reveal other crimes committed by the suspects,” the PRO disclosed.
