Olofa calls on NASS to enact laws on banned items
The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi , Esuwoye II, has called on the National Assembly to enact a law that forbids any administration to lift ban on any product that has been banned from being imported into the country.
The traditional ruler made the call in his palace during a recent interview with newsmen.
According to him , any policy put in place by a government in the interest of the general public must be sustained and not be reversed.
The Olofa lamented that the greatest problem indigenous investors, industrialists and farmers are facing is lack of consistency in government policies.
Oba Gbadamosi further stated that some individuals alter government policies due to their selfish interest and therefore challenged government to put an end to such ideas.
He noted that during the present administration under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari, most Nigerians have gone back to farm to embark on massive rice cultivation and other produce. The monarch enjoined the Federal Government not to lift ban on rice importation as Nigerians are already patronising local rice.
According to him, the masses may be feeling the hardship of government policies, but overtime, such difficulties would be overcome.
The Olofa applauded the FG for showing huge interest in agriculture and called for sustainability and improvement in that sector stressing that apart from improving the economy, it would reduce unemployment in the country.
Oba Gbadamosi enjoined the people of the state to come out in their large number and participate in the ongoing seventh Kwara State Trade Fair holding in Ilorin
