NPFL: Kwara Utd secures vital point in Akure
71st minute goal from Sunday Chukwu saved a point for Kwara United in a week 15 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Footballer League played in Akure Township Stadium, yesterday.
The Harmony Boys did their chances of escaping relegation, a trailer-load of good, by forcing the Akure Gunners to a 2-2 draw.
The team under the tutelage of new Technical Adviser, Abubakar bala scored first through Stephen Alfred in the 21st minute.
The home team drew level after 38 minutes with a superb free kick that beat United goalkeeper, Eze Chidi.
The Kwara boys would later go behind to a similar free kick, before Sunday Chukwu equalised with a free header, off a corner kick.
There were frantic but futile efforts from both sides to claim the three maximum points at stake, but the colour of the scoreline remained deadlocked.
