Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, yesterday, arrested a suspected cultist with a pistol at Gaa Akanbi area of the state capital, National Pilot was informed.
The suspect was nabbed for threatening his colleague after failing to grant his request.
He was caught with the locally made pistol at Gaa Akanbi roundabout, while trying to compel his friend to do his bidding.
In the process, the hoodlum was intercepted by men of the Civil Defence, who accidentally met him in the midst of a crowd.
It was also gathered that the crowd descended heavily on him before taking him to the NSCDC headquarters at Post office area, Ilorin, for further interrogation.
When contacted on the telephone, the state NSCDC spokesperson, Bello Ayodele confirmed the arrest.
He said, “An argument ensued between the lad and his friend whom he threatened to kill if he does not buy him a gift.
“The suspect removed cartridge and in the process, a pistol dropped from his body and people rushed to the scene thereby descending on him. We had to arrest and take him to NSCDC headquarters before the situation get out of hand.”
