The newly inaugurated Students Union Executives of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for the 2017/2018 academic session have been charged to always embrace dialogue in the discharge of their duties in order to sustain the relative peace enjoyed in the institution.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu stated this during the official Introduction of the executives to the management staff.
Elelu who stressed that unionism has gone beyond antagonising, urged the executives not to give room to any influence that could disrupt the stable academic calendar.
He advised them to be proactive and creative by organising academic activities that will boost the image of the polytechnic globally.
The Rector who stressed that security of lives and property of both staff and students is paramount to the management, urged the SUG executives to always cooperate with security personnel within the two campuses.
He promised that the management will do everything possible within its limited resources to ensure that welfare of both staff and students is properly taken care of.
Speaking earlier, the SUG President, Akinfolarin Michael Akinbobola lauded the management for the various developmental projects within the campuses and for bringing back the lost glory of the institution.
He promised that the SUG exco is ready to support the management in ensuring that stability in the academic calendar is maintained.
