Arjen Robben warns teammates of Real Madrid threat

Former Los Blancos and Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has warned his teammates of Real Madrid threat ahead of the semi-final clash against the European Champion at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Robben is of the view that Bayern Munich must get a good result at home in the first leg of the semi-final against Real Madrid in order to be on advantage going into the second leg clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid eliminated Bayern Munich in the quarter-final last season after defeating the Bavarian home and away last season.

“Madrid may be the favourites but that doesn’t mean anything to me,” Robben said.

“In order to go through it is very important that we have a good game at home in the first leg. The Allianz may be decisive.

“Their (Real’s) biggest threat is in the attack. They have great players there and in order to stop them we have to work together at the back.”

Robben won two titles with Real Madrid, the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup before he went to Bayern Munich in 2009.
