Kwara wins 3rd African drum festival

Kwara State has emerged victorious at the just concluded third edition of African Drum Festival in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Imo State emerged second while the host state, Ogun placed third in the continental fiesta attended by 22 states troupes and 73 private others.
While receiving the victorious troupe of the Kwara State Art Council at the Government House, Ilorin, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed congratulated members for making Kwara proud.
He further commended the state Art Council for positively projecting the image of the state and its people.
The elated Governor promised further support to the troupe to enable it excel at national and international Competitions.
Ahmed said he was particularly that the Arts Council despite its challenges and limited resources could come first in the drum festival.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Hajia Halimat Kperogi appealed for support and approval of the governor as the troupe is looking towards participating in another festival scheduled to hold in India between May 21st and 26th, 2018.
