New COED Ilorin Provost promises ‘no door policy’

The new Provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Dr Yusuf AbdulRaheem has promised to operate what he termed a ‘no-door-policy’ in his administration of the college.
AbdulRaheem stated this yesterday at the institution during a brief handing over ceremony to officially assume the Provost of the college noted that the policy is a researched based one that has worked for him in other places.
According to him, the issue of open or closed door policy is quite different from a no door policy adding that the latter give unfettered access to him to make the college one of the best in the world.
AbdulRaheem is the seventh substantive provost of the college replacing Dr Saka Opobiyi who was present during the ceremony.
The new provost promised to focus on the students, teaching, research, services and the staff welfare to make the college one of the best in the world.
“When we set out for this journey, we had it in our mind what we wanted to achieve. This college is one of the oldest and its founding fathers wanted it to be one of the best in the country but you discovered that of recent, it has not been so because of the challenges being faced.
“It is now our duty to make this college one of the leading ones in the world known for scholarship, recognised for excellence in teaching, research and services. This will improve the ranking of the college”, he added.
On the issue of funding, AbdulRaheem said he is looking into various options and promised not to lose sight of its mandate which is to improve the ranking of the college.
He said, “We will continue to involve all stakeholders through dialogue especially on internal issues that we have control over.
