The Senior Pastor of the Rehoboth Royal Covenant International Assembly Church, Kulende, Ilorin, Pastor Bola Payimo has urged the Federal Government to review and revamp the security apparatus of the country.
This is coming against the backdrop of the prevailing insecurity in the nation occasioned by herdsmen killing and terrorism among others in parts of the country.
The clergyman made the call on the sideline of the church’s 11th convention held in Ilorin on Sunday.
He stressed that government should prioritise the security of lives and property to guarantee safety in all ramifications.
He also called on Nigerians to be more security conscious, adding that security should be the responsibility of all and sundry.
“We should be more security conscious and more sensitive and at alert. If we are security conscious, the ongoing societal evil will be averted,” he said.
The cleric, however, urged citizens to see themselves as their brother’s keepers and work towards promoting and encouraging virtues that will promote social cohesion in order to have a united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
Speaking on the convention, Pastor Payimo described the church’s 18 years of existence as “very eventful and full of spectacular spiritual achievements.”
The clergyman who spoke glowingly of the church’s rising profile especially in the areas of spiritual engagements, said God has been using the ministry to impact lives of the people in the society.
“God is moving the ministry from grace to grace and glory to glory, the testimony among the members of is evidently very amazing,” he added.
On the theme of the convention, ‘The dawn of a new beginning’, Pastor Payimo said the focus of the annual event was apt.
He pointed out that Nigeria needs to experience new dawn at this trying period to be able to move the country to the promised land, adding that the church has been burdened with finding lasting solution to people’sย  social and spiritual challenges.
He said the church has been involved in social responsibility through charity and empowerment programmes for the less privileged members as well as monthly donation to widows
