Ex-lawmakers to Kwara APC Excos: Expectations are high

The Forum of former members of the Kwara State House of Assembly under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has tasked the new leadership of the party to justify the confidence repose in them, adding that people’s expectations are high.
The forum noted that the recent state party congress, which culminated in the inauguration of members of the new executive, was not by accident as record of public life and loyalty justified their re-election into various offices of the party.
A joint statement by the Chairman and Secretary of the forum, Hon. Layi Ayinde and Hon. Isiaka Mogaji, which was issued in Ilorin yesterday, urged the new executives to always note that people’s expectations are high and should strive to justify the confidence reposed in them by adding values to the system.
“We do not have iota of doubt in our mind that new members of the party executive are endowed in terms of pedigree, intellect, exposure, passion, tenacity in delivery, and even in capacity. It is our conviction, therefore that we will get the best out of these new party leaders”, the statement added.
It advised them to forge a strong tie with the 16 local government areas party executive in the state.
The statement, urged aggrieved members of the party to eschew their differences and join hands with the new leadership of the party.
The former parliamentarians however thanked APC’s immediate past Secretary, Chief Bode Adekanye, for his contributions and wish him well in his new assignment as Special Adviser on Electoral Matters in the State.
