KWSG pledges relief for Bode Sa’adu rainstorm victims
The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment towards assisting the less privileged in the society, particularly victims of natural disasters in the state.
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed made the statement recently while speaking through the Special Adviser on Emergency Management and Relief Service, Hon. Razak Aknabi Jimoh, in Bode Sa’adu headquarters of Moro Local Government Area while on assessment tour of rainstorm to the place.
The Special Adviser was conducted round the affected property by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bode Sa’adu Ward, Alhaji Babatunde Muhammed.
Hon. Jimoh said the Governor sympathised with the residents and victims of the rainstorm that blew off over 50 houses and many other property in the area.
The governor’s aide had earlier assured the victims that the state government will assist the victims in form of succour that will ameliorate their suffering, saying that the purpose of the assessment tour was to enable him determine and ascertain the level of destruction by the rainstorm and report back to the appropriate authority for necessary action.
Jimoh said that though many were injured, he however appreciated Allah that no life was lost to the incident. He assured the victim that the state government will not rest on it oars until aids were given to the people.
Responding the Chairman of Moro Local Government, Hon. Mumini Eleyele, represented by the Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Razaq Ajagbe appealed to the state government to as a matter of urgency come to the aid of the victims as many of them have been rendered homeless.
Speaking, the Daudu Bode Sa’adu, Alhaji Aliu Olarongbe Sulu Gambari who also had part of his palace destroyed by the rainstorm further requested for timely intervention of the state government.
