Social vices fallout of poor upbringing, cleric stressed

Reverend James Adedoyin of ECWA, Ita-Elepa, Ilorin, Kwara State has called on parents to train their Children in the way of the Lord as children are the heritage of the Lord.
Speaking on the topic “Find time to train your Children”, Reverend Adedoyin explained that Children represent the future of a family, community and the nation, calling on parents to ensure proper discipline and upbringing of their Children.
The Cleric who attributed most of the vices in the society to bad upbringing of the Children, challenged parents and government to be alive to their responsibilities to ensure an egalitarian and peaceful nation.
Meanwhile, a Cleric, Prophet Akin Awoye has stressed the need for Christians to be of good character to serve as examples to others.
Prophet Awoye made the call on Sunday in his sermon delivered at the 34th anniversary thanksgiving of the Gospel Drama Ministry of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters.
The Cleric, who spoke on the topic “the Lord knows those who are His” called on the people to be mindful of their attitude and behaviour as whatever they do here on earth are being recorded.
He advised Christians, especially Ministers of God to quote Bible correctly to promote good character and behaviour in the society.
Prophet Awoye challenged Christians to use their talents to praise and promote the gospel of God.
The Minister in charge of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, City of Grace Congregation, Obbo road Ilorin, Reverend Kelechi Odii in his message titled “Always Trust God’s Ability” advised Christians to trust in the Lord with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding.
Reverend Odii called on the people to depend on God and call on Him fervently for the Nation to overcome its current problems and challenges.
Also in her message titled “power of old” delivered in Lafiagi, Prophetesses Bosede Adimabua called on the people to move closer to God and have strong faith in His power and ability to turn things around for good.
In his message titled “Sin Despises God”, Pastor Taiye Aransiola of United Evangelical Miracle Church Off Yidi Road Ilorin explained that sin is a demonstration of lack of fear of God and an expression of rebellion and independent against God and His rule of righteousness.
