25-yr-old injured in Ilorin after robbery attack

Aminat Giwa, a 25-year-old girl, sustained severe injuries on Friday after she was reportedly attacked by suspected robbers who were riding on a motorcycle at Sulu Gambari road, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

It was gathered that the victim was returning from her office located opposite Kwara Hotels when the suspected robbers trailed her and dragged her from a commercial motorcycle.

Aminat was said to have fainted after falling awkwardly on the road.

Speaking with our reporter, the victim said, she left her office around 8pm and she was on a motorcycle on her way home when the incident happened.

“I discovered that two men on a motorcycle were trailing me by the time I got to Sulu Gambari road they were already closer to and they tried to snatch my hand bag but luckily for me I held on to the handle but I fell from the motorbike. The next thing I discovered was that I found myself in the hospital. I was told that I was rescued by police officers at Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC) who immediately rushed me to the hospital, she said”

According to Aminat, the latest incident was the second time she would be attacked by armed robbers.

Penultimate Monday, the victim claimed she was attacked at Government Secondary School, Ilorin.

“I boarded an ash colour cab at Post Office and we were three females heading towards Oyun. When we got to GSS, the driver diverted the car by heading towards Shoprite and later parked somewhere.

“The driver and his accomplice then removed knives and threatened to injure us. They collected our phones and money before we were allowed to disembark and the car took off.โ€
