Ikeme delighted to return to Molineux as guest

 

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, says it was a great feeling for him to be at Molineux Stadium again making an appearance as a special guest in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with champions, Manchester City.

Ikeme who retired from football in the summer after a year-long battle with leukemia was brought onto the pitch with his two kids before kickoff.

Ikeme and his kids went round to acknowledge cheers from the fans inside the stadium.

The former Nigeria international old teammates put up a spirited display against Manchester City who held them to a 1-1 draw.

In a tweet Ikeme said “Great day being back @wolves seeing everyone! Big Love Always.”

Ikeme upon full recovery is expected to team up with the Super Eagles technical crew.
