We stage soccer competition to foster unity in Kwara – Chairman Ladorb FC

 

The Chairman of Ladorb peace initiatives, Umar Balogun has said the ongoing grassroots soccer competition is meant to abate youth restiveness in Kwara.
He stated this yesterday while fielding questions from our reporter at Government Day secondary school, Tanke, Ilorin the venue of first edition of Ladord soccer competition.
According to him, the rationale behind the soccer competition is to use football to bridge co-existence among the inhabitants of the state.
“The aim and objectives of the tournament is to get our youth engaged at the same time using the platform to bring about peaceful co-existence.
“We try to see how we can marry the usefulness of our young men into peaceful co-existence, ” he said.
He added that about 12 teams across the state are participating in the tournament which includes: Ladorb FC, Lameda FC, Ayo demonic FC, Oke-Ose FC.
Others are, Oke-Oyi Utd, Young boys FC, City Boys FC, Unique FC, Owonikoko FC, Oke-Odo FC and City Star FC.
Meanwhile, Ladorb Football Club and Lameda Football Club played draw at the opening match of ongoing Ladorb Peace Initiative Football tournament 2019, held at the Government Day Secondary School, Tanke, Ilorin, Tuesday.
The Captain of Ladorb FC, Awal Adam scored the first and second goals at the 30 and 35 minutes of the match while Olanrewaju Adeniyi of Lameda FC scored for his club at 45 minute of the first half to make the scores 2-1.
Mohammed Abdulmajeed of Lameda FC scored the second and third goals for his club at 50 and 60 minutes of the match to make it 3-2.
