KWSG completes 178 projects in LGs

The Kwara State Government has so far completed no fewer than 178 micro projects across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
The state government has also disbursed the sum of N600m to the micro-projects as at June, in the sectors of water, education, health, electricity, erosion control, environment and natural resources, transport and social-economic.
This was disclosed by the Ag. General Manager, Community and Social Development Agency (KWCSDA), Alhaji Yahaya Ahmed at a two-day worshop for Local Government Review Committee and Desk Officers from relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDGs) , held in Ilorin, recently.
He noted that the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) has reduced poverty at the grassroots by increasing access to improved social infrastructure and natural resources through co-financing of Community Development Investment.
He added that during the additional financing about 123 Community Development plans were approved while 49 micro projects are currently ongoing.
Speaking at the event, the Board Chairman agency, Alhaji Ayinla Salihu Alamoyo urged stakeholders to ensure strict compliance with laid down procedures for Community Social Development Project (CSDP) implementation.
He stressed that the workshop became necessary in order to sensitise stakeholders given the recent changes especially the additional financing of the scheme.
Alamoyo further charged LGRs and Desk Officers to “be ready at all time to offer professional advice on the field whenever the need arises, for the smooth sail of the project.”
He urged them to be attentive during the technical session of the workshop as facilitators will be presenting the modules.
The Board Chairman who commended the administration of Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed said its achievement in rural development is quite laudable and people are appreciative of it.
