Lagos bound air passengers at the Ilorin International Airport on Friday expressed frustration over delayed flight by Overland Airways.

The flight which was billed to land at the airport by 6:15pm arrived 9:10pm and later took off at about 9:54pm as against the 7pm scheduled time.

The passengers who had checked in by 5pm endured for four hours while awaiting arrival of the aircraft.

Our reporter observed the passengers’ restlessness as some of them paced the corridors while others were seen in groups discussing on the development.

Speaking to Pilot Aviation before boarding his flight, one of the passengers, Mr. Malik Kolawole lamented that the delayed flight by the airline has disrupted his plans.

“I have been here (airport) since 4pm with the hope of getting to Lagos to attend to some businesses before travelling to the UK tomorrow. Unfortunately the flight delay has spoilt my plans.

Another Passenger, Cynthia Ukah decried what she described as insensitivity of the airline to plight of passengers.

She said, “We have been waiting here for about four hours and not even an apology from the airline over the delay. Such cannot happen in developed countries. Regulatory authorities should fine airlines for this kind of development.”

Similarly, Engr. Richard Udanne expressed displeasure over poor service delivery by the airline, calling on regulatory to do the need to get things right in the aviation sector.
