2019: Ilorin Emirates students harps on candidates with leadership abilities

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the national headquarters of Ilorin Emirate Students Union (IESU) has organised a two-day symposium to sensitize youths on the dangers surrounding election violence in Kwara State.

The event which took place at Queen’s Hall, Unity road was also targeted at the political aspirants to come and showcase their ambitions for the people.

Various speakers at the forum called on Nigerian youths to shun acts of violence, thuggery and other negative vices that might hamper the 2019 general elections even as they advised them to vote for credible candidates with proven ability for leadership.In his welcome address, the National President of the Union, Sheikh Amosa Aliyu Ahmad stressed that as part of their social responsible, they want to cautions the youths against evil vices in the society now and during the election.

“We also dedicated to the provision of sustainable solutions at ensuring the flow of good governance in the state and Nigeria at large thereby inviting our politicians to come and tell us what they have for Kwarans.

“I want every youth to shun all forms of vices to attract and sustain development in the region as future leaders.

Representative of the Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Lukman Abdulrazaqย ย ย commended the students for their foresight in organising such timely programme and enjoined stakeholders to continue in their sensitization drive in the interest of the country’s unity.
