4 arrested for stealing APC campaign motorcycles in Ilorin

 

The men of Kwara State Police Cmmand have nabbed four persons for stealing motorcycles belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin.
The four motorcycles were said to have been stolen at the party secretariat in Fate area.
The suspects are Aina Seyi, Opeyemi David, Ganiyu Sheu and ibrahim John all of various addresses in Ilorin.
According to police source, the coordinator of the state APC team, Otunba Ganiyu Zubair was carrying out routine check at the party’s campaign office along Fate road when he discovered that one of the party’s campaign motorcycles was missing.
“He sighted someone making away with the motorcycle and gave him a hot chase, which made the thief to abandon the motorcycle somewhere in GRA.
“When the Coordinator got back to the secretariat, he discovered that four of the motorcycles valued at N250,000 each had been stolen. He then reported the case to the police.
“The security guards at the secretariat were arrested and in the course of investigation at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), they confessed to have conspired to steal five motorcycles.
It was gathered that further investigation led to the recovery of three of the motorcycles from Ibrahim John who received the motorcycles from the suspects for safe keeping.
“Investigation is still on to arrest other suspects and recover the remaining motorcycle,” the source added.
When contacted on the matter, the State Police Spokesperson DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said is yet to be informed.
