Nov poll, test case for APC’s defeat in 2019 – Babaoye

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Chairman of the committee on Works, Hon Mathew Babaoye has assured that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be victorious come Saturday bye-election into the vacant seat of Irepodun/Ekiti/OKe-Ero/Isin federal constituency.
Babaoye said with the pedigree of the Saraki dynasty in the state and track record of election victories, the PDP will deliver in the coming bye-election.
He called on the people to continue to support the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki who hold the ace in Kwara politics adding that the structure will be up to the task during the exercise irrespective of the antics of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said “The structure on ground, the Saraki dynasty is determined and control the waves of politics in Kwara state.
“And part of the test case is coming to Kwara South in the bye-election on Saturday. Irepodun is a strong hold of the Saraki dynasty. And if you go through the 2015 election, you will see that we had deficit in Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero. It was the vote of Irepodun that absolved the deficit we had in these three constituencies and that we are about to see again with a change because those three constituencies that failed then will not this time around. Irepodun people will still prove that we are politically aware and conscious and we drive the pace of politics in the constituency.
“Come Saturday, with the work, structure and the input of government in terms of developmental project despite the paucity of funds we shall deliver” he added,
On the APC candidate, Raheem Olawuyi Ajulo-Opin, Babaoye said “He contested in 2011 and he came forcefully but with the power of the dynasty and people’s will and commitment with the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki, he was defeated. The PDP will deliver Alatise come Saturday. Federal might or not, the PDP is on ground in Kwara ably supported by the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki”.
