What we pay as taxes to KWIRS – KASMAG

The Chairman of KASMAG motors, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Omoola Ibrahim has said that his company paid over N150,000 as taxes to the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service(KWIRS) per annum.
He stated this yesterday during a chart with our reporter in his office.
“Yes! At a time we were charged N3,000 per driver in a year. We pleaded with them for a reduction which the agency obliged by reducing it for N1500.
“KWIRS raked over N100,000 per pack in a year. And at KASMAG, I have over 100 drivers. So if you calculates this, our pack alone remitted around N150,000 to the revenue agency, he said.
He said, ‘We have cleared that of last year charges and our members have been doing their best to ensure that they perform their fiscal obligations to the Kwara State Government.’
Omoola however added that he subjected his drivers to periodic seminars and orientation in tandem with the international best practises.
“Yes, I placed my drivers under thorough scrutiny and made them to attend seminars and lectures in other to get them acquitted with modern driving practices”
The chairman further said the rational for the sustenance of KASMAG over the years is due to diligent and hard work.
“At KASMAG we adhere strictly to the tenets that govern the practise of transportation. I have travelled to many countries outside Nigeria and I know how they operate their businesses over there, a replica of what we do at KASMAG,” he concluded.
