Ahead the 2019 general elections, a House of Representatives aspirant for Irepodun/EkitiIsin/Oke-Ero federal constituency, Otunba Anu Ibiwoye has said he has the strongest bond with the people of his constituency.

Speaking during an interview with our reporter over the weekend, Ibiwoye, who is the Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Agriculture and Rural Water Support Services said, “When I contested the seat of Kwara South Senate in 2011 with Senator Simeon Ajibola, I had a good showing in the election losing with about 400 votes only.

“Ever since that election in 2011, I have been around and I remained accessible to my people which explains my very strong connection with them.

“One of the things I intend to do if eventually elected is to be responsible to the people and giving back to them what they deserve.”

Speaking on his chances, Ibiwoye stated that Irepodun Local Government that he hails from has the largest population among the four local governments he intends to represent therefore the seat may be strategically zoned there.

He said, “I’m strategically positioned that if the Rep is given then I stand a good chance.

“On what I am bringing to the table, one of those things I have done in politics over the years is to mentor young people particularly the youth. One of the things we must do is to give our youths the capacity to take over the leadership, tomorrow.

“We want to also increase the quality of representation because politics is not about ourselves but the people we represent. The moment that we begin to realise that we derive our mandates from the people, then politics will be given a new meaning of being accountable and letting the people understand that they are very important.”

He however rejected the threat of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to take over elective positions in Kwara State come 2019.
