Saraki, Tinubu, Ambode, others, mourn Pa Fasiro

The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has commiserated with the family of Pa Hassan Adisa Babatunde Fasinro, one of the founding fathers of Lagos State.
Pa Fasinro died on Sunday at the age of 99.
Saraki in a tweet on Monday wrote; “Pa Fasinro will be greatly missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. It is my fervent prayer that Allah forgives his sins and grants him a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus.”
Similarly, the former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described Pa Fasinro as a true father of Lagos and a committed progressive.
He said Papa fought to establish the rule of law and to give Lagosians a democratic egalitarian society, adding: “He believed in the innate goodness of the people and that democratic governance would help our people realize their fullest potentials.”
In a condolence message to the Fasinro family he personally signed and released Monday night by his Media Office, Asiwaju Tinubu said Pa Fasinro contributed immensely to Lagos and Nigeria as a lawyer, politician, administrator, legislator, author and community leader, adding that he would be deeply missed.
Titled: “Pa Fasinro: A True Father of Lagos,” the statement reads: “Alhaji Hassan Adisa Fasinro was a true father of Lagos. Born and bred here, he personified the best of Lagos and dedicated his life to making Lagos a place of progressive governance, cultural richness and social justice for all its people. He lived and breathed Lagos till his last breath.”
Also, the Lagos State Governor, Akiwunmi Ambode who paid a condolence visit to the family of Pa Fasiro has expressed sadness over his death.
Ambode in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna, said Fasinro was one of the greatest founding fathers of Lagos, saying that he was one of the main architects of Lagos.
Similarly, the Lagos State Governor-elect, Babatude Sanwo-Olu wrote, “My heartfelt condolences go to the family of late Pa Hassan Fasinro. Pa Fasiro lived a very fulfilled life, which he dedicated to the service of humanity. We are inspired by his life of service and commitment to the well-being of Lagosians and Nigerians. He will be missed.”
Fasinro, a senator in the Second Republic and the first Clerk of Lagos City Council passed on 8:29pm on Sunday after a brief illness.
