Kwara Utd secures narrow win against Wikki

Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin recorded a 1-0 victory over Wikki Tourists of Bauchi to secured it’s two wins from home in the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Saturday.
The match day eight encounter in the NPFL played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin was the hosts’ second victory of the season.
The host got it’s first corner of the game in the 6th minute after a penalty appeal was waved by the central referee.
Luqman Binuyo had a brilliant free kick for the host but was rolled over the cross bar.
In the 23 minutes of the encounter, Wikki tourist defender committed a fouls in the 18 yard box, as the host were awarded a penalty.

After the goal, both teams took the game to each other but fluffed many of their scoring chances.
The visitors returned stronger in the second half, but the return of Tijani Adamu for the hosts made life difficult for Wikki Tourists’ attackers.
Kwara United had lost 0-3 to Lobi stars on match day five, and a five goals thriller encounter at home against Enyimba.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the game, Coach Bala Abubakar said he felt happy with the win over Wikki tourists.
“Our position on the log is a serious concern, but at least getting 3 points today is more important for now.
“The goal margin is not the problem, but the 3 point. We are more faster in the first half, but not taking the advantage”, he said.
Kwara United will now travel to Osogbo to take on Remo on Wednesday.

Coach Bala makes his last change as Ebenizer Odeyemi is been replaced by (Usman Mohammed 73minutes).
