The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state, Thursday rounded up its rallies ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in a grand style.
The last set of rally which held at various locations within Ilorin west local government area where the Senate President. Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki hails from was indeed mother of all rallies .
At every point of the campaign, the PDP’s campaign team was received by mammoth crowd of party supporters and members.
The Senate president personally led the campaign train. He was accompanied by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad, Director General of the PDP campaign council, Professor Abubakar Sulyman and the state’s party Chairman, Engr Kola Shittu.
It took Saraki and his entourage hours to move from one location to another as residents trooped out in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the Senate President .
The daughter of the Emir of Ilorin, Princess Aisha Sulu- Gambari who is a house of assembly candidate added colour to the campaign rally as she was accompanied by about 20 horse riders.
Saraki who was apparently impressed by the large turn out of the party supporters, asked the people to come out en masse as they did yesterday to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all the party’s candidates in the national assembly elections.
“If you deliver to PDP on Saturday, your votes will be our negotiating power with the incoming government of Atiku Abubakar.
“He is the only one that understands how to create wealth, he understands how to drive the economy and create jobs for the youths”, he said.
Also speaking, the party’s governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa assured that his government will create jobs, improve infrastructure and uplift the standard of living of all Kwarans.
