Poll: Mammoth crowd as Saraki round off Ilorin West rally

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state, Thursday held its rallies ahead of rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.
The last set of rallies which held at various locations within Ilorin west local government areas where the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki hails from, attracted mammoth crowds of party supporters and members.
The locations included the Metropolitan Square where he met with the women associations and groups, Adeta Baseball field, Baboko Community Secondary and the Kwara State Stadium where top artist like Davido and other notable artistes thrilled the youth and party supporters.
The Senate President personally led the campaign train and was accompanied by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, PDP’s gubernatorial candidature, Hon Razak Atunwa, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad, Director General of the PDP campaign council, Professor Abubakar Sulyman and the state’s party chairman, Engr. Kola Shittu among others.
It took Saraki and his entourage hours to move from one location to another as residents trooped out in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the Senate President.
Saraki during his remarks at the various venues told the people to vote for the party’s presidential candidate,  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Razak Atunwa and all the candidates of the party at all levels.
He promised that its only the PDP that has given Kwara a place of recognition and respect  if it form the next government adding that they should ensure they come out to vote and not be intimidated with the presence of the large deployment of security to the state.
Saraki who was apparently impressed by the large turnout of the party supporters, asked the people to come out en masse to vote for the PDP.
“If you deliver to PDP on Saturday, your votes will be our negotiating power with the incoming government of Atiku Abubakar.
“He is the only one that understands how to create wealth, he understands how to drive the economy and create jobs for the youths” ,he said
Also speaking, the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Razak Atunwa assured that his government will create jobs, improve infrastructure and uplift the standard of living of all Kwarans if elected adding that he will put Kwara first by prioritizing welfare and build on the infrastructural achievements of the current administration.
The daughter of the Emir of Ilorin, Princess Aisha Sulu-Gambari who is a House of Assembly candidate added colour to the campaign rally as she was accompanied by about 20 horse riders.
