LG Poll: NNPP,YPP Drum Support For PDP, Say Kwara Retrogressive Under Governor Abdulrazaq

Ahead of the LG elections in Kwara State, a large number of members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Young Progressives Party(YPP) have shown commitment to work with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to bring about the desired changes that the people yearn for at the grassroots.
The PDP in Ilorin East LG on Tuesday received in hundreds a group of members of the opposition parties who came to drum their support for the PDP and its candidates in the coming local government elections.
A member of the group, who is the woman leader for YPP, Mrs Ramat Jekindero, lamented the retrogressive state Kwara has been under Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq since 2019.
“It’s unprecedented in Kwara for a governor to serve as sole administrator on both state and local government areas for more than five years. This act has crippled development at the grassroots level.
The only way to stop this maladministration of the APC government in Kwara is for the opposition parties to join hands to rescue Kwara and her people.
Also speaking at the occasion, were Comrade Jibril Oyin who is the Chairman of all the chairmen of NNPP in Ilorin East local Government and Alhaji Lanre Ajikobi who is a leader of the NNPP in Kwara State said, “The people who used their time, resources, and energy to mobilize for Kwara APC in 2019 general elections are all living in regret.
“Their intention was for job creation, prompt empowerment, and bringing developments to the grassroots through Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq but what we have today is a government of backwardness and retrogression.
“More than five years now, our local government councils have been run by lackeys of the governor without being duly elected. No dividends of democracy at the grassroots and in communities within the state.
“The government of the APC is far worse. Some of us are living witness to the Saraki era in the past, and we know what our communities have benefited from the Saraki family,” they added.
In his remarks, Alh Oluwadare Garuba who is the PDP chairman in Ilorin East LGA welcomed the members and assured them of a great synergy for the good of the masses. He said the PDP remains a united family and ready to wrestle power with the ruling APC which has failed the people.
Also present to receive the YPP and NNPP members were prominent PDP stakeholders and elders like Alhaja Nimota Ibrahim, Hajia Sarat Adebayo Ibrahim, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, and Hajia Ishola Aminat Funmilayo.
The convener of the group, Alhaji Taiye Alawuyan, thanked everyone on behalf of His Excellency Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for their cooperation and readiness to work together to secure victory for the PDP candidates in the coming LG elections.
At the venue, the Ilorin East PDP chairmanship candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Rasaq Seriki, and all the councilorship candidates were introduced. The stakeholders urged the group members and the PDP members to work in synergy and accommodate one another to flush out the failed government of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Kwara State.
