Ilorin Airport denies fire outbreak rumor

The management of the Ilorin International Airport last night, denied the speculation of fire outbreak in the facility.
Speaking with our reporter on telephone, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Protocols Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Ilorin International Airport, Adeyeoluwa Oluwakayode said there was no incident of fire outbreak at the airport adding that, “What may have led to the rumour is a controlled bush burning within the airport which is usually carried out on routine basis by the fire service department.
“We called on the general public to always verify accurate information pertaining to operations at the airport before dissemination.”
Around 9:40pm, yesterday, there were reports that the airport was on fire. The reports were posted on some social media platforms thereby leading to tension among some people especially residents of the Airport area.
However, when some newsmen visited the facility last night, they were prevented from gaining entrance by the security personnel at the main gate.
