KWSG begins harmonisation of travel agencies

 

In a bid to boost revenue generation in the state, the Kwara state government has commenced registration and harmonisation of members of National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) across the state.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hajia Maimuna Nnayanbindi Adams, while receiving members of the association during a courtesy visit, said ” this occasion was aimed at familiarising with the group to know your members and create a cordial relationship to enhance your activities.
“We want to ensure registration of your members to know genuine operators with the aims of curbing people with fraudulent intention.
The permanent secretary stressed the ministry will award certificates to members of the association after the registration with the sum of N15,000
She said ” we are pegging the annual registration with the ministry for your members at N10,000 and the certification charges N5,000 totaling N15,000 for now.
According to her, the ministry will only recognise agencies that have fully been registered and will work with them smoothly in the state.
She said ” we are going collaborate with you to ensure that your members that are yet to key into the association do so seamlessly.
The Coordinator of NANTA, Kwara and Ogbomoso branch, Mr Abiodun James Olawale  lauded the permanent secretary and her team for the magnanimity accorded to the association.
He stressed that they will take the message home to other members to ensure a collective payment of the annual taxation.
