Christians have again been charged to refrain from evil and move closer to God for the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be meaningful in their lives.
A Cleric, Prophet Segun Korode gave the charge yesterday in his sermon delivered as part of activities marking Easter Sunday at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ilorin District Headquarters.
Speaking on the Topic “For the death of Jesus Christ not to be in vain”, Prophet Korode explained that Jesus Christ died for the salvation of mankind from sin and the evil forces.
The Cleric called on Christians to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour and refrain from atrocities.
He implored them not to see the period for merry making alone but an opportunity and avenue to move closer to God and worship Him wholeheartedly.
Prophet Korode urged Christians to desist from sin, be good examples to others and love their neighbours as themselves.
Also speaking on the theme: “Why seeking the living among the dead”, Reverend Joseph Olabanji Agboluaje of Second ECWA, Shao noted that the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives humanity hope and future and open new chapter to the humanity.
Reverend Agboluaje added that the resurrection also gives humanity total victory over sin and the devil.
The Primate of the Resolution Church of Christ National headquarters off Coca Cola road, Ilorin, Dr. Martins Olobatoke advised Christians to shun unrighteousness for the resurrection of Jesus Christ to be fruitful in their life.
In his sermon, Pastor ldowu Constain of the New Life Holy Trinity Chapel, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin urged Christians not to see the period as merry-making alone, rather imbibe the teachings.
Similarly, Pastor Aremu Abioye of the Ark of God Covenant Faith Bible Ministry, Amoyo enjoined Nigerians to shun evil and put in their best to sustain an egalitarian society.
On his part, Prophet Peter Oladipo of the C & S Movement Church, Ipetu-lgbomina called on Christians to live a holy life while his counterpart, Pastor Kayode Omotosho of the C A C Anusogo Lorimi, Kilanko village, Ilorin emphasised the need for faithful to emulate humility and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
