Kwara South Youths Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, describing him a worthy leader.

The youths made this known on Tuesday at the Kwara South APC Youths Consultative meeting held at Ajase-Ipo, in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking with our reporter through telephone call on Tuesday, the newly elected Chairman of Kwara South Youths Forum, Kayode Ogunlowo, said the vote of confidence on Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa by the forum is justifiable by his timely engagement and leadership style.

“We commended the caretaker committee-chairman for the ‘timely’ engagement. Kwara South Youths are happy that the leadership of the party is thoughtful of creating an avenue for youths to speak and partake in the decision making body of the party that has further reposed confidence in the leadership of the party in the state.

“You’ve entrenched in our hands, leadership. We promised to never let you down,” Ogunlowo said.

He added that Kwara South Youths Forum, under his leadership will work in synergy with the party’s hierarchy toward a robust and purposeful engagement ahead of next elections.

“We have been charged on the need to be in one fold ahead of 2023 general election so as to avert the mistake of the past. Those people the party put before the electorate in 2019 did not undergo background test, hence that would not be allowed come 2023.

“On this note, the Kwara South Youths Forum therefore passed a vote of confidence on the state caretaker committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa,” he affirmed.

Earlier, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa had charged the youths on the need to be focused-driven, expressing confidence over the crisis that have beguiled the party in the state.

Briefing them on the purpose of the meeting, he appreciated the youths for standing and believing in the leadership of the party, emphasizing that the party, under his watch, will ensure the youths are included in decision making body of the party.

He said the present challenges would soon be over and will be to ‘our advantage, In sha Allahu’. He further charged the youths to propel the gospel of the just course and win more members to ‘APC Loyal’.

Bolarinwa reminded the youths that the party under his watch is blessed with the power of the Almighty who’s the all doer.

He added that it’s not always easy to stand for the truth but it is definite that lies cannot travel far. He assured that the gains will definitely be worthwhile.

“Let me appreciate you all for standing by the truth. We’re known for a difference. We’re known for resilience. We’re known for steadfastness. It’s on this note that I charge you all to remain focused while ensuring the gospel of our dear party is extended across board in order to win more members to the party.

“We should all come together toward rewriting the mistakes of the past. In the last election, most of the party’s candidates did not have antecedent as they were not subject to background test. That would not be allowed in the coming election. We should all come together to resist them,”  BOB said.

Bolarinwa noted that the engagement session, which is an ongoing exercise, will be periodic and extended to other two senatorial districts in due course.

It would be recalled that Bolarinwa-led exco last month held Kwara South APC Elders Consultative Meeting in Ajase-Ipo which was described as a ‘call to unity’.

The meeting was well attended by the seven local government areas’ party chairmen, youth leaders, youth stakeholders and some selected elders and stakeholders.
