…Saraki, Ahmed, Speaker congratulate new monarch

The Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Bologi Ibrahim Umar, has been presented with the Staff of Office by the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The colorful ceremony which took place at the Etsu palace square on Saturday witnessed large turnout of people and indigenes of the state from within and outside the community.
Bologi who succeeded his father, late Umar Chatta Ibrahim was appointed by the Kwara State Government as the 7th Etsu Patigi.
The crowd that attended the event was a testimonial to the wide acceptance of the new emir among members of his community in Patigi Local Government Area.
With the new development, the 38-yr old former custom officer will commence his official duties as the paramount ruler of the community.
Meanwhile, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has congratulated the new monarch and prayed for a peaceful reign.
According to Saraki in a tweet from his personal twitter handle, “Today, I join all Kwarans and Nigerians in congratulating the new Etsu Patigi, Umar Ibrahim Bologi II on his coronation. I pray that your reign may be long, peaceful and prosperous!
Similarly, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad, has enjoined the new Etsu Patigi to sustain the legacy of peaceful coexistence, among the people of Patigi Emirate, to ensure accelerated socioeconomic transformation of the area.
The Speaker gave the advice in Ilorin, while felicitating with the new Etsu Patigi, on his coronation and presentation of staff of office, by Governor Ahmed.
Dr Ahmad, who described peace as pivot of any sustainable development, noted that traditional institution, had greater role to play in ensuring peace and stability, stressing that no meaningful development could be attained in an atmosphere permeated by rancour and acrimony.
“The traditional institution has key roles to play in ensuring peace and tranquility in our society in order to fast track accelerated development in our state,” he said.
Dr. Ahmad expressed confidence in the ability of the new monarch to bring his experience to bear in the discharge of his new responsibility.
The Speaker also enjoined other contestants to the stool and the entire people of the area, to join hands with the traditional ruler in the task of piloting the affairs of his domain, to ensure the consolidation of the impressive record of achievements of his predecessors.
