2018 Hajj: 1,500 Kwara intending pilgrims complete online registration, payment

No fewer than 1,500 of the 2,221 intending pilgrims from Kwara State have completed their online registration and payment for the 2018 Hajj.
The Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Tunde Jimoh made the disclosure during a sensitisation programme held in Ilorin on Tuesday.
He said, “We have completed the online registration for 1,500 pilgrims in line with the directive of National Hajj Commission (NAHCON); that is they have fully paid their fares.
“We have set deadline for intending pilgrims that are yet to pay their fees to comply on or before tomorrow (Thursday) this week.
Jimoh stressed that they have completed arrangements forย ย accommodation, feeding and transportationย ย and other logistics for the pilgrims at Medina and Mecca.
According to him, the actual amount approved by NAHCON and states is N1.4 million for each intending pilgrim.
On selection of airline for the hajj operation, he explained that the screening and accreditation is solely the responsibility of the Commission as the various states will only pick from the selected airlines.
The Executive Secretary, however, called on the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and country at large by obeying all laid down rules and regulations as regards the hajj exercise.
He revealed that Tuesday next week has been fixed for inauguration and vaccination of intending pilgrims.
He, however, warned them against taking along with them contrabands such as kola nut, tramadol among others, saying the penalty is death.
