KWSG reiterates commitment to sports devt

 

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its Commitment to Football and Other Sports development in the State.
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmad Stated this Friday at the dinner for Kwara United players and officials over their triumphed to the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL at Henry George Hotel, Adewole, Ilorin.
The Governor who spoke through his Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Pharmacy Kale Nuhu Ayo commended Kwara United FC for making the state proud by gaining ticket to the elite football division in the country, stressing that the ticket has brought joy not only for football lovers but Kwarans as a whole as government will continue to improve on the welfare of both the players and backroom staff of the team to enhance their effectiveness in the next football season.
He applauded all stakeholders for their support in the last season’s campaign in the NNL as he urged them to continue the already established solidarity in order for the club to maintain their status in the NPFL.
The President and Chairman of Kwara United, Prince Oladimeji Thompson commended the present administration under Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for their renewed and continued assistance for the team, adding that their unflinching support was the manifestation of the club’s crossed over to the apex in Nigeria.
Prince Thompson expressed the believe that with the level of preparation put in place by the team through the series of engagement in friendly matches and pre season tournaments, the team is the club to beat in the coming season.
Also speaking, the technical adviser of the team, Coach Sam Obuh disclosed that the team is ready For the season and expressed satisfaction with the players attitude and professional conduct but called on the government to fast track their financial assistance to recruit more players before January 14th kick off of the league in Nigeria.
The Programme was attended by football stakeholders, members of the state of House Assembly Committee on Sports, supporters and fans of the team.
