Sports, potential to empower youths – Dep Gov

The Kwara State government will give necessary attention to sports inview of its potential to the economic development of the Youth and the State.
The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi stated this today in Ilorin while receiving the Emirate Sports Promotion Concept organisers of AGF Abdulrasaq Under twenty soccer tournament in his office.
Mr Alabi said sports have the needed potential to positively engage the youth to contribute their quota to the development of the State and the Nation in general.
The Deputy Governor explained that the participation of youth in Sports would reduce vices and make them to be economically independent.
He stated that the government would support the initiative to discover more talents in the state.
Earlier the Chairman of the Concept, Mallam Bolaji Tapa who spoke through Bayour Issa said the tournament was packaged to honour and recognised the contribution of AGF Abdulrasaq to the State and the Nation.
Mallam Bolaji called for the support of the State government to ensure the success of the tournament that would commence on the twenty eighth of this month.
He later announced the State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi as its Patron.
Speaking later in an interview with Journalists, the Secretary of the Concept, Tunde Aluko said thirty two teams drawn from four States Kaduna, Oyo, Osun and Kwara would take part in the tournament.
