13-yr-old Unilorin sec school student missing
A 13-year-old student of University of Ilorin Secondary School, Simbiat Abdulrasaq, has been declared missing.
The Junior Secondary School 2 student who resides at 26, Kamaldeen Street. Okekere area of Ilorin was said to have left for school last Monday but yet to return home.
The dark in complexion,4.3 fit tall who speaks both Yoruba and English was said to have left home in her school uniform.
It was gathered that the case has been reported at the Oloje Divisional Police Station by the father of the missing student, Alhaji Abdulrasak Sodiq.
In a telephone interview with our reporter, on Saturday, Alhaji Sodiq said before leaving for school on Monday, Simbiat was told to return home with a material belonging to her brother which she claimed to have left in her locker in the school.
“Her elder brother, Sikirulahi, was to resume at an Arabic school called Sumurah on Sunday but he could not find one of the items he needed to take to school. When he asked her sisters about the missing item, one of them said he should ask Simbiat. She confessed that she took it to school and kept it in her locker.
“She was then ordered to bring it home unfailingly on Monday so that her elder brother could return to his Arabic school.
“On Monday 18th of March, she left for school hoping that she will return in the evening with the said item but she is yet to return home since then,” he said.
He however pleaded with the Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and other security agencies to come to his rescue over his missing daughter, adding that he has trust in the command and other security agencies.
He urged anyone that may know her whereabouts to contact any nearest police station or the family.
Effort to contact the state Police spokesperson, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi on the matter proved abortive as he did not respond to calls while text message sent to his phone is still being awaited as at the time of filing this report.
