The 2019 Edition of Nigeria Basketball Federation President Cup will
commence on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Indoor Basketball Court of
the Kwara state stadium in Ilorin.
The tournament earlier scheduled to start in Akure last week was
shifted to Ilorin after consultations by the Organising Committee of
the Nigeria Basketball Federation.
At the end of a technical meeting held on Sunday, where the start date
was discussed, it was announced that a total of thirteen teams from
both conferences are expected to participate which also includes the
duo of Lagos Islander and Dodan warriors.
According to the secretary of Kwara Falcons, Bello Azeez, who
confirmed teams have been drawn into two groups of A and B.
In Group A, One of Nigeria representatives at the last Africa Club
Championship, Rivers Hoopers, were pitch alongside Police Baton, Lagos
Islanders and newly introduced trio of Nigeria Army, Benue braves and
Ondo raiders.
Surprised host, Kwara Falcons in Group B, will have to battle
alongside Dodan Warriors, Civil Defenders, Niger Potters and three
newcomers in Invaders (Ekiti), Raptors ( Lagos) and Coal city (
Enugu),
The full schedule is yet to be released but reports indicate the full
set of games is to be released later today while matches will
officially tip off tomorrow.
