Future stars emerges winners of CP Cup

..as KWSG charges security operatives to key into sports devt

 

Future stars Football Club of Ilorin has emerged the winners of the
13th edition of commissional of police cup after defeating young stars
Football Club by 7-6 by penalties.
The match which was played on Tuesday at the main bow of Kwara State
Stadium, Ilorin has in attendance the Speaker of Kwara State House of
Asssembly, Danlade Yakubu, kwara State commissioner of police, Kayode
Egbetokun and other para military in the state.
Speaking at the event, the speaker of Kwara State House of Assembly,
Yakubu Danladi charged Military and Para Military formations in the
state to emulate the state Police Command by keying into sports
development in the state.
Danladi expressed the state government’s determination to change the
face of sports positively in the state in the coming days when the
executive might have been fully put in place.
Also speaking at the occasion the Commissioner of Police, Kayode
Egbetokun disclosed that the command will take their synergy with
YSFON to the next level by adding U-17 tournament to the existing U-13
tournament next year.
He expressed confidence that the competition will discover talents who
will become stars like Ronaldo and Messi in the nearest future.
Also, YSFON Chairman, Prince Ademola Kiyesola thanked the state Police
command for sponsoring  the tournament and giving YSFON the enabling
environment to develop the youths and take them off the street.
He disclosed the  competition had produced  players who have graduated
to become National team players.
Future Stars FC emerged winners of the tournament after defeating
Young Stars FC 7-6 on penalties after a barren encounter in regulation
time.
In the loosers final, Champions FC thrash Shabram FC 3- 0 to pick the
bronze medal.
