Cleric charges faithful on Quran recitation

The Imam of Al-Hamdulillahi Mosque, GRA area, Ilorin, Ustaz Zakariyah Mustapha has tasked Muslims to engage in constant recitation of the Holy Qur’an in the Glorious Month of Ramadan, adding that such act of worship attract rewards from Allah.
He said while reading the Qur’an, Muslims should also make effort to understand and internalise the message and injunctions of Allah as contained in the Qur’an and practically demonstrate it in their various communities.
The Imam stated this during the Jumaat service on Friday while delivering his sermon (khutuba) shortly before the two traditional units (Rakat), adding that, Muslims should drastically reduce the time they spend on Facebook, WhatsApp and other social medium platforms this period for the Qur’an.
Mustapha further said Muslims should in the month of Ramadan to worship Allah and seek for His mercy.
He charged Muslims to purify their hearts and have the mind to forgive themselves and others who have might have offended them.
Mustapha also urged Muslims to engage in sadaqat to other Muslims, adding that God will bless such believers in abundance.
“Help other Muslims in every position you find yourselves today. One must remember that Allah is the provider of any position and He can take it from anybody at anytime. If Allah gives you wealth, share with others to attract Allah’s and reward.”
He tasked Muslims to engage in prayer during Ramadan, adding that every prayer made in this month will be granted by Allah.
