The caucus members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ero and Kaiama Local Government of Kwara State have thrown their weight behind Alhaji Ladi Hassan, a gubernatorial aspirant in the forthcoming governorship elections.
During the visit of the former chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to Oke-Ero local government, the council members declared that they are more pleased with his candidature.ย
The council’s party chairman, Hon. Rotimi Owolabi stressed that Hassan should be rest assured that he will get their support in the council during the primaries.
He said, “We are supporting Ladi Hassan because he is a grassroots politician who practices open door policies. We can be rest assured he will bring peace to the state. We will not stop our prayers for him until he achieves his dream of becoming the state Governor.
“Many people have decamped to another party but he stood his ground with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
Hon. Muhammed Papa who received Ladi Hassan campaign team in Kaiama also noted that the council is in full support of the gubernatorial aspirant.
He further prayed that God will consider the former Chief of Staff worthy of the PDP gubernatorial ticket.
In a chat with this medium, Hassan disclosed that he is overwhelmed with people’s testimonies concerning his person saying he was proud to be a Kwaran.
“I feel proud to be a Kwaran, I’m ready to offer myself as a credible candidate for the state, to bring back the lost hope and to cause positive changes in our economy,” Hassan added.
Hassan however urged members of the society not to cause controversy over the issue of zoning adding that people should rather vote for capacity.
“The issue of zoning is not what people should be considering but individual capacity, what one can offer in terms of governance is what matters. We can look at the candidate, who have been tested, who have the capacity to deliver, Hassan added.
