Emir of Ilorin re-unites blue-eyed woman with husband
…assures Kwara Bassa community sense of belonging

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari on Thursday reunited the blue-eyed woman, Mrs. Risikat and her husband Abdulwasiu.
It was gathered that the Ilorin monarch settled the family rift through Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association.
The association under the leadership of Alhaji Abdullahi Salaudeen Babatunde reportedly met with the couple’s family for the reconciliation.
Babatunde with his colleagues had earlier met with the individuals involved on the matrimonial breakup for the reunion and reached consensus to meet for amicable reconciliation at the husband’s family house.
After extensive pleading by some Islamic clerics led by Alfa Muritala Ottan, Mrs. Risikat agreed to move back to her matrimonial home.
While appreciating the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Ilorin and the Ilorin Emirate Development Association for their efforts on the reconciliation, Abdulwasiu thanked everyone involved in the process both within and outside Kwara state.
He promised to continue to show Risikat love as it was at the beginning.
Risikat also expressed her gratitude to the Emir of Ilorin through Ilorin Emirate Youth Developmental Association for his fatherly intervention and thanked media houses and everyone who had contributed to the successful reconciliation financially, morally and spiritually.
In a related development the Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has assured the people of Bassa Community living in the state of equal right to enable them contribute their quota to the overall development of the state.
Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari made this known while presenting Letter of Appointment to Daniel Zhokwo as the first indigenous Aguma Bassa in the state.
The monarch who was represented by the chairman, Ekiti Traditional Council and Olosi of Osi, Oba Salihu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe Arowobeku I said this would give non-indigene living in the state sense of belonging with their counterparts.
He added that Kwara is a peaceful State whose people are very accommodating regardless of their background or tribal differences.
The Chairman State Traditional Council also implored the new Aguma Daniel Zhokwo and his people living in all parts of the state to continue to maintain peaceful environment that would facilitate more development across the state.
Earlier the new Agumai Bassa Community in the state, Aguma Daniel Zhokwo promised to keep the flag flying toward sustaining an egalitarian society.
Aguma Zhokwo expressed appreciation to the state government and the Emir of Ilorin for given him the opportunity to serve his people while pledging not to let them down at all time.
Recall that the new Aguma Daniel Zhokwo was turbaned by the Emir of Ilorin on the 2nd February, 2019 at his palace.
The ceremony was attended by the eminent personalities within and outside the State including the leader of the association of Bassa Community in Kwara State, Mr. Frances Keke, General Adviser, Mr. Isaac Kure, the Adviser to the Leader, Mr. D.CO. Joshua Zhokwo, First Lady, Mrs. Paulina Daniel, chairman of Traditional Council of Bassa Aguma, William Keke and Youth Leader, Friday Rai.
Others are General Chairman of the association of Bassa, Kogi State, Mr. James Shigaba, General Secretary, Rai Sheneni, all chiefs, members and P.A. Johnson Lawal. The event also featured different cultural entertainers from far and near.
