Buhari’s Intolerance reloaded
By Ayobrown Adetunji
No be fake news O!
Massacre with evidence
Soldiers shoot for morning,
Serbia bullets bought by Army killed protesters
By who? Yet unknown soldiers?
Police too shot in the evening
As CNN investigation revealed
Like ChannelsTv, AIT, then, NBC must be sanctioned
For not sanctioning CNN
One Nigerian Soul!
That he killed more than one Nigerian
If not crimson, cerise, cherry and magenta
What else could the rivers of Nigeria turned?
And if not dirges, lamentations and mourning
What else could have suffused the land
But with all these, he’s thankful to his spiteful father
For his inpatient and non-endurance to kill guiltless children,
If that’s not a fault, then what is it?

Unbelievable was the story! ‘Knock sense into their heads’ as if Nigerians are animals. An absolute humiliation on humanity, as classified by many. Perhaps, as there are manners in love as we also have reasons in madness. If not that some supposed that others are stupid, in a civilised nation, some people ought to be resigning their offices by now. But here, it is something more ridiculous instead.
Nigeria case can be likened to a swimming pool, where people pay to get wet’, Nigerians voted President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Femi Adeshina, and pay them to insult their common sense. Resultants of which the worries and disappointment in the nation were becoming bigger by the day than even the displeasure in Buhari or his government.
Approaching leadership rationally; it is no qualms that what elders may see and understand while sitting, youths may not see even while standing. But, except for lack of good governance, it is rather unfortunate that only those in this category will believe ‘because the youths didn’t see what the elders saw’, then, they must be killed.
Then, where is the future? By its content analysis, it is more than a billion-naira disappointment, when more than two third of a two-hundred million population pass vote of no confidence on its leadership.
But beyond any media innuendo, how do you access President Buhari after the #EndSARS Lekki tollgate shooting without been biased?
Surveys show that something terrible happened to some of the images which no one is proud of locally or globally.
But again, he should have never open that diary again just like that.
Imagine, if any of the protesters had been one of the Buharis or Adesinas or any of their apologists’ children, only then would they have understood what is being said. That was one of the many messages
from Nigerians to you. But remember, most times bullets are not enough, because it is difficult to talk when you are being spotted smoulder. The President assumed that if not for his exercise of tolerance as a father, “we would have been talking of something else in the country”, but like what? What is worse than the Lekki bloody shooting? This is what many more Nigerians would want to know, even now than ever before.
Many are wondering what else any ‘intolerant killer father would have done worse than that of #EndSARS Lekki tollgate shootings. As if they are pondering my mind.
Many more are beginning not to appreciate Buhari’s ‘humanitarian’ values as claimed by his aides but which is unexplainable. FG had plenty of opportunities now to stop and make good decisions. But many youths have submitted that no such change can be if not for a protest like the #EndSARS.
Oh wonderful Buhari, he ought to have arrested their parents after them, instead of only ordering that the protesters be maim and shot dead. Like struggling while trying to figure out how to say what he wants to say. He thinks ‘we have not many fathers’, that since the government had accepted the five-point demands of the #EndSARS protesters but for the hijacking, misdirection and elongation.
As it is both physically and practically impossible for a normal human being to kiss his elbow so it is for some people to understand the situation that led to the EndSARS protest, which if care is not taken is capable of leading to any country’s disintegration.
And if not that abnormality is sometimes underrated, by now heads must have rolled in some offices. On #EndSARS: We’ll be talking of something else had Buhari not acted like a father, a statement that was credited to Adesina is really absurd.
Perhaps Buhari should have ordered the shooting of parents and family of protesters after that of the bloody Lekki shooting or what else is his aide’s narrative. He applauded his boss for killing innocent Nigerians. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has said his principal acted with restraint typical of a father during the #EndSARS protest that rocked the country last month. But unfortunately he forgot to add what happened to such terrible fathers in history.
Then it is better to have millions of instructors than to have killer as a father. Perhaps, whoever is in support of such is one. Though, it doesn’t matter he thought this dent will rob off in a short time, but subsequent events are proving their predictions to be wrong.
As if there is nothing else to bargain with. Initially, only few are curious but this latest vicious statement cultivated more Nigerians’ curiosity. Incredibly embarrassing choice of thoughts of an unfortunate officeholder, many more are joining the condemnation tags.
Buhari have no reason to be afraid of youths if his government is popular, please advise your boss. ‘We have not many fathers’, he thought, President Buhari is one, perhaps who ordered innocent protesters to be killed for demanding end to cruel police brutality and good governance. ‘The President is by no means a soft man’. His comparison ‘we remember the man of iron and steel that ruled with iron fist between January 1984 and August 1985, with his kindred spirit, Babatunde Idiagbon’, who was the number two when Buhari was number one, the head of state, unfortunately Adesina deliberately ignored or forgot to add that.
But, he went further saying, ‘they attempted to knock sense into our heads as Nigerians, but were eventually toppled by people who had less patience for discipline’. That in this modern day and time referring to fellow citizens with such, ‘knock sense to heads’ is something else, as if Nigerians are animals, is not only disgusting but also shameful of this government. No wonder they preferred to kill than to dialogue, what intolerance?!
But remember that you only get drafted once in time. FG may think the decision to clamp down on supporters is best thing to do but it lost the fight, as we can all see, another protest is imminent if nothing concrete and substantial is done soonest. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity was asking “is President Buhari as hard as he was in 1984? Yes and no but with no one to help him answer the question.
And except for military fiat, Lekki tollgate killings would not have happened without passing through democratic due process Nigeria claimed to have.
Though, he confessed him to be an unbending iron, as an enviable personal traits and attributes, but how this iron refused to wait for proper approval in democratic process before rolling out ‘hot lead’ to kill as if the country is at war remains baffling. Because iron fists without common sense dictates is as dangerous as the enemy itself.
Imagine what power without wisdom can cause, if not the type of Lekki tollgate shooting.
Ciao!
