BLG group distributes live chickens, rice to fasting Muslims in Kwara

Hon. Bolaji Lawal, Chairman of Bolaji-Lawal Liberation Group (BLG), a non -governmental organisation based in Ilorin has dolled out food items including live chickens to fasting Muslims in Kwara central senatorial districts .
Cash were also distributed among other packages given out to beneficiaries in the 12 wards that comprise Ilorin West and Asa local government areas.
According to the donor, the past packages which was the second batch in one month were “meant to cushion the effect of economic hardship among Muslim during the ongoing Ramadan fasting
“Ramadan according to Qurโ€™an is the month of giving and sharing among all Muslims regardless of class, race or any barrier”, he said.
Among the beneficiaries of the gesture were leaders of the All Progress Congress (APC) in Kwara central, community and opinion leaders, vulnerable women. Also distribution of food to the needy was also carried to equip them in meeting the Muslim obligatory fasting of Ramadan.
Bolaji Lawal is renowned with touching lives in many ways and his humanitarian services through his foundation have been rendering such gestures for about 12 years now.
The programme were in two phases
Speaking during the distribution of the items, the coordinator BLG group in Asa, Mallam Ganiu Salaudeen said “Hon Bolaji Lawal has shown the way to go in 2023, he never hold any political post in government before and he has been doing this now for 12 years. His efforts need to be commended.
“Foods items were indiscriminately shared to people without any barrier of class or party affiliation”
