Ustaz Yasin charge Muslims on devotion

Muslim faithful have been charged to intensify commitment towards the observance of the ongoing Ramadan fasting for them to sufficiently reap the huge benefits of the sacred month.
The Chief Imam of Teaching Service Commission’s Mosque, Ilorin, Ustaz AbdulRahman Uthman Ajikobi Yasin issued the admonition in Ilorin, in an interview on Sunday.
The Cleric called on Muslims to intensify effort at adhering to the tenets of Islam as regards the fasting, adding that Allah will not accept indulgence in activities that is short of the guiding principles of Islam.
He said Muslims must avoid things that could attract sin but rather work towards activities that would earn them Allah’s mercy, favour, blessing and bountiful rewards both on earth and the hereafter.
Yasin who is also leader of an Islamic association, Jamuiyatul Ababul Nyas, tasked observants of the fast to make regular recitation of the Qur’an, attendance of Sermon , giving of harms and assisting the less privileged be their standing habits during and after the Ramadan fast, emphasising that such activities would attract them bountiful rewards from Allah.
He said, “we should use the period to reap benefits from Allah and also seek for His forgiveness for ourselves and the nation, so that the people and our country can be blessed.
“We should endeavour to use the holy month to pray for peaceful coexistence, security, economic development, stability and general well-being of our nation .”
Ustaz AbdulRahman, a member of Old Students Association of Arabic Teacher’s College, Jebba and Alumnus of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto where he bagged first degree in Arabic, said Ramadan is the period to be closer to God and reap the full benefits of His mercy, blessing, favour among other rewards, especially Aljanat in the world beyond.
The Imam who is also the founder of a faith based association, Fitiyatul Iwanu Faidul Tijaniyat Ibramiyat Baba Yasin, enjoined Muslims to use the last ten days of Ramadan for consistent prayer, alms giving, seeking for forgiveness, as the period is full of Allah’s ‘Rahama’.
