Kwara gets N3.7bn allocation for Aug

The Kwara State Government has received a total of N3,758,459,535.68 as allocation for the month of August, 2019
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Benjamin Fatigun in a statement said that the breakdown of the allocation included N2,870,916,203:70 statutory revenue allocation (SRA); N881,905,406:72 value added tax (VAT); and N5,637,925:26 exchange rates gain.
A total of N2,747,716,999:63 (two billion, seven hundred and forty seven million, seven hundred and sixteen thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine naira, and sixty three kobo also went to all the 16 local government areas of the state, according to the statement.
It said the total allocation to the local councils comprised N2,244,146,495:29 SRA; N499,851,910:47 VAT; and N3,718,593:87 Exchange Gains.
The announcement followed the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting that was held in Abuja on 22 August, 2019.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, meanwhile, has directed immediate payment of salary for the month of August, some arrears of gratuities from the previous administration, and August salaries of the Colleges of Education and College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies Ilorin (CAILS), the statement said.
He also directed the payment of the arrears owed them for the first academic quarters of 2018 and 2019.
While the sums of N2,209,825,277.94 went into paying the August salary for the state civil servants, the government spent additional 100million for gratuities of retirees and 294million to pay salaries and arrears of the Colleges’ staff, according to the statement.
