The Crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State is getting messier on daily basis as the warring parties have continued to expose and drag each other in the mud.
APC in Kwara, with a slogan ‘O to ge’, has since its inception as the ruling party in the state, been engulfed in one problem or the other.
Of recent was the exposure made by the governor himself accusing the aggrieved members of sidelining him from the campaign fund from the Federal Government.
This, has since been generating a lot of controversies, as the Bolarinwa side equally challenged Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman to explain to the world what he did with one billion naira (N1bn) collected from the former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
A member of the aggrieved side of the party, who doubles as a member of Kwara APC Integrity Group, Mallam Abdul-Rahoof Bello (Labelabe) has again come out to accuse the governor of getting the whole system wrong right from the beginning.
According to Bello in a release recently, since the APC was fighting for the 2019 election from the trenches of opposition, the planning could not have been perfect. He described Kwara APC as an orphan which the national leadership of the party came to rescue by making the most senior Minister from the state, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the defacto leader of the party in the state. He said Lai, with the junior Minister, Sen Gbemisola Saraki and other national leaders of the party worked assiduously to finance 2019 elections and even the primaries; campaign training of party election officials, mobilisation, security, logistics and funding of the Presidential rally in the state.
He said Mallam AbdulRahman knew nothing about the money as he was not in any position to know how they collected and used the money, adding that AbdulRahman who is now saying they stole the money, was not known by anybody from the top and would not expect the leaders of the party to descend so low as to consult him before disbursing the money.
Bello said, “but at that point in time, who or where was Mall AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq? What locus standi had he to query the sources and uses of funds he knew nothing about?”
“Despite the divine intervention in his political career, it is unbelievable that Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq could collect and sit on a whooping amount of (N1billion) from the national headquarters of APC part of which was meant to reimburse the nomination fees paid by all aspirants who lost the tickets in the botched primary elections”, Bello disclosed.
