The Acting National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Yahaya Ahmed, has described the immediate past President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki as a distinguished son of Ilorin Emirate who has made significant contributions to the all-round development of the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
Alhaji Ahmed stated this in a press statement commemorating the 57th birthday of the two-time Governor of Kwara State, signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam.
The IEDPU National President said that the Union, on behalf of the good people of Ilorin Emirate, rejoices with the former President as he recalled the numerous contributions of the statesman to national development since his foray into public service.
The Union added that the Waziri of Ilorin has incontrovertibly secured a special space for himself in the political history of Nigeria with several offices he previously held with huge smartness,amazing competence and high impact, describing him as one of the most celebrated flag-bearers of Ilorin Emirate in contemporary Nigeria.
Alhaji Ahmed urged Dr. Saraki to use the occasion of his birthday to reflect on his career so far with a view to paving new way he would offer more of his experiences to nation-building.
The Union wished the former President of the Senate a very fruitful birthday and many years of services to Allah and humanity.
